About

Every vote has a price.

PaidForPolitics makes campaign finance data accessible to every American — not just journalists and researchers.

What this is

PaidForPolitics is a free civic data tool. Enter your zip code and see who funded your representative's and senators' campaigns, how much was spent per vote in your race, and how your district has voted over time.

All data is sourced directly from public records — FEC filings, MIT Election Lab certified election results, and OpenSecrets industry classifications. We don't editorialize. We don't take sides. We show you the record and let you draw your own conclusions.

Why we built it

The data has always been public. The Federal Election Commission publishes every campaign contribution over $200. OpenSecrets categorizes every donor by industry. MIT Election Lab publishes certified election results going back to 1976.

But accessing it requires knowing where to look, how to navigate dense government databases, and how to cross-reference multiple sources. Most people don't have the time or the technical background to do that.

PaidForPolitics does it for you. One zip code. Thirty seconds. The full picture.

What this isn't

PaidForPolitics is not a partisan project. We cover every representative regardless of party. The data doesn't have a political affiliation — it's public record.

We are not affiliated with any political party, campaign, PAC, or advocacy organization. We do not accept advertising. We do not sell data.

Support the project

PaidForPolitics is free to use and always will be. If you find it useful, consider sharing your district's results or telling someone about it. That's the best support we can ask for.
